Hey everyone welcome back if you're new. here my name is Patrick and today I'm. going to be doing another play and. explain. this time it's going to be at 25 50 Cent. Zone on Bovada. uh last time I did one two Zone. and I wasn't planning on doing uh lower. stake streams but I do kind of I'm. interested to see how many people who. watch this are playing lower stakes and. are interested in the lower stake. streams. also I thought it would be a good. opportunity to talk about how I would. navigate low stakes how I would approach. playing these games if I was. you know back to being a low stakes. player. so I'm going to talk a little bit about. that as well. I'm going to. check here on table two and also table. one. I think you could either call or raise. here I'm going to mostly call but I just. rolled in my RNG very aggressive down.

Here so I'm gonna. check phrase. and I think probably this player will. fold more often than they're supposed to. gonna check again on table one I don't. really see a point in betting here. probably will sneak in a value bet on. the river. this player's calling from the small. blind a lot of regulars play three. better fold from the small blind so if. you do get a call from the small blind. from an unknown it's often going to be a. recreational and in that case you can. value a bit thinner this is a pretty. thin value bet but I don't think it's. terrible. on the flush clothes River that's. getting kind of thin. so if you watched my last video you know. that I don't really suggest playing Zone. and if you want to hear more about that. I would go back and watch the previous. video. and this is going to be pretty loose for.

This rake structure but I'm going to ISO. the short stack player who just limped. and I'll just fold. so the challenge for me here is going to. be playing. tight enough for this rake structure. um. because I do need to tighten up. significantly compared to what I'm used. to playing. but also I think I have a pretty big. Edge against the regulars and also I. have a huge Edge against the. recreationals. so I want to be playing a lot of pots. first the recreationals. this is zone so I don't know exactly. who's a recreational but I can sort of. guess based on. if they're limping or doing things that. recreational that regulars don't. typically do. and if they're short stacked that's. another indicator these aren't. proof that I'm playing against a. recreational player. but uh. it's an indication and if I have. multiple indications in the same hand.

Then I'm gonna pretty much just assume. again this hand. probably doesn't need to be three bet at. this structure. but playing a bit looser. this is a board where you can pretty. much just get away with see budding. range for half plot I think that's a. good strategy in practice. this guy's opening 5x. um. okay. I think this is one of the strongest. handsall fold. so a spot like this I mean you've got a. short stack opening small you've got a. bunch of people tagging along. I think you can jump in with Studio. connector hands like this even though I. typically play three better fold from. the small bun. I will still jump into spots with really. playable hands like this pseudo. connector pocket pairs because. I think that I can make them profitable. just by getting paid off a lot when I do. hit a big hand or finding spots to Bluff.

When you know when things check around. here I'm going to ISO. on table one. and let's format. on table two. um. that's a big. three bet isn't it. struggling with the. sizes because I'm not used to these. Stakes. anyway if you see me make a mistake. preflop for this rake structure just. assume that's because I don't really. know what I'm doing pretty flop at this. great structure and I'm trying to play a. little bit looser. to capitalize on my post flop badge. alright so. the main thing that I want to talk about. in this video is what are the main. mistakes that low stakes players make. why are people stuck at low stakes. there's two reasons. that I think that people typically get. stuck. number one is logistics. there's simply not. taking poker seriously enough sort of. treating it like a video game hobby. rather than a profession if you're an.

Aspiring professional. so people will do things like not have a. play schedule set up. they will play and they'll be distracted. while they're playing so they'll be. multitabling and they'll also be. looking you know. reading stuff on the internet on their. browser while they're playing or. checking their phone. they won't be studying or reviewing. hands they'll just kind of be pumping. volume and hoping for the best. um here on table one. I think we just check. and it's just too strong to really think. about trying to steal that pop with a. bluff. on table two I'm pretty much just gonna. see that range. when I three bet small preflop. so Logistics is the first thing that. people tend to mess up. it's just about getting organized and. really just following a routine because. the thing about low stakes is that even. though the rake is kind of high relative.

To higher Stakes you have a lot a lot. more recreationals. um. so I know the rake is high but low. stakes really should be the easiest. Stakes to beat if you can't beat low. stakes. over you know. a significant sample so looking at at. least like a hundred thousand hands. um you should be. pretty concerned that there's something. severely wrong with your strategy or the. way that you're playing poker. of course it's possible to just run bad. for a hundred thousand hands and not. make even any money even if you have a. winning strategy but. it's getting unlikely at that point. the second place that people mess up and. this is sort of kind of tied to the. logistical part because it just has to. do with your study is people mess up the. fundamentals. so if I was playing low stakes I would. be focusing. at first pretty much all of my energy on.

Preflop. just play preflop correctly don't. overfold. your big blind make sure you're three. betting enough. things like that just get down the. fundamentals of preflop it's super. important people always. neglect it because it's not really. um. flashy or fancy it's kind of boring. but really a lot of your Edge in poker. will always be this way just starts from. preflop. and a lot of the edge that you get in. these games are just from all the. recreationals who sit down and play and. they play like a 50v pip or a 70 V pip. and just play way too many hands and. bleed money that way. so make sure you get preflopped down. then I would move on to things like. flop seabed strategies these are fairly. important also you can keep it very. simple at low stakes I would be. seabedding my entire range a lot for a. small size and really just trying to.

Navigate in a simple way to the river. try to. cut the game tree down so that you know. you don't always get into really. complicated lines. and then therefore have to make very. difficult River decisions. instead you know you can make things a. lot simpler just by. sea betting range for small and then you. don't ever have to worry about what. happens when you check back in a lot of. spots. and then that makes your River decisions. easier because you're facing more. consistent River decisions in the same. line. potentially even more important than. your own seabath strategy is how you. respond to see that's. here I turn two pair on table one. um. I think I'm just going to call here I. might go for a raise on some Rivers not. that one. and on table two I have a gut shot. gut shots are typically going to. continue about half the time and I do.

Like to have an overbed size on this. board I'm just going to only over bet. for about 120 pot. and took that one down. I'm gonna ISO on table one. all right where was I. yeah back to fundamentals so. defending versus seabets making sure. that you're not making pure strategy. errors on the Flop is huge. a lot of low stakes players you know. they're supposed to fold to let's say. You're supposed to fold to a onethird C. bet out of position like 30 percent of. the time in single raised pots you'd see. a lot of low stakes players just lazily. fold 40 of the time and they're just. giving away money that way. making pure strategy Errors By. folding hands which are supposed to Pure. call in theory and our plus EV to call. in theory. so again. just studying the really unsexy stuff. the fundamentals the spots that happen. over and over and over again.

Is really enough to. Crush low stakes if you're taking it. seriously. for example this board you know there. are very very few combos that I'm. allowed to fold on this board versus. that sizing I think you can actually. call your entire range on this board and. you will. barely be exploitable. on the turn here. I think that I can fold this one. but yeah those low rainbow boards. there's very few combos you know a lot. of people just look at a hand like Queen. 10 off suit with no back doors. and they'll just snap fold it to a. onethird seabed. and if you look at a solver it'll show. you that there are. basically no combos on that board that. pure fold there are some combos that. will fold sometimes. um I think I'm just going to dip out of. this hand. multiway. some commas will fold sometimes a lot of. combos will pure call but almost no.

Combos were pure fold on that board. we've got another limbs pod on table two. and by the way I will try to put a link. in the description you can go to my blog. there's an article which is one of my. most popular articles it's called the. reason you're losing at low stakes and. it talks about all of this logistical. stuff that I'm talking about in this. video but in more detail. okay we Face a second bet here. and I think we can fold here on the. monotone board especially. multiway on the flop. I don't think you even want to really. consider continuing with that hand. just because that player is very likely. to be severely under bluffing in that. spot it's difficult to find enough. Bluffs multiway and on the monotone. board and I think we can probably just. fold that in theory anyway. okay we face. a pretty large threebed.

Um. I'm going to fold this. I don't know how correct it is but I'm. just thinking. at this rate structure and reverse that. size. and also. against low stakes players who you know. like I mentioned before or not often. playing preflop correctly they're often. missing three bet Bluffs from the big. blind I think it's safe to play a little. more conservative. all right let's see if we can get some. interesting postflop spots. when you're at a position outside of the. blinds as the preflop razor or very. simple see bet strategy is just to check. range it's barely exploitable at all. on the Flop and just checking down we're. going to show down there. I'm assuming that player was a. recreational. uh let's see. he had king queen of hearts so. I was wondering if we might see a weird. Showdown like if he just had a hand like.

97 off suit that he was never supposed. to be playing. that would be confirmation that that. player was a recreational player. this is at the bottom of my opening. range on the button and it might just be. a fold at this rig structure but I'm not. sure. again going to check range in this spot. the only boards where you don't want to. do that are boards with a lot of high. cards. but even if you just check range on all. boards. that's a strategy that performs really. well. let's see what he had there. is four of Spades. okay. um. ace3 suited is going to get three bet a. lot from the big blend. and here I'm gonna go for a squeeze. I don't just automatically fold these. from the big because you never know if. someone is just gonna. complete the small blind or. you have a limbed pod or something like. that. this is interesting um I think I can.

Just fold here. feels a bit tight but. I think um. generally. against regulars playing conservatively. against three bets at low stakes is. probably the way to go. and again here a short Stacker. calling from the small blind and. I'm gonna assume this is a recreational. most of the time and I'm gonna play my. hand pretty face up and just try to. check this down. now go for value. and here on table one we're going to. continue. and this player lamb to remember. potted it on the flop. I'm going to be pretty sticky here. I don't really want to be folding strong. pairs in limped pots. against a player that. is probably recreational since most. regulars are. playing an open raised strategy only and. not limping preflop. that guy had. ace5 off suit. so I'd probably you know depending on. the sizing I probably would have called.

River. this is a board where you just want to. see that range for a small size. I pick up an openended straight draw. um I'm gonna go the twothirds pot bat. here it's pretty connected I rolled. aggressive on my random number generator. down here. and I'm going to be barreling this hand. most of the time checking sometimes. let's bat here on table one. Ace Jack I think you can call this. at some rake structures but probably not. here. um on the turn let's see. I think I'm gonna check oops don't want. to fold. I think I'll slow play this. and then I'll go for a raise on the. river. now he Parts it. um. I'm going to pot it back. it'll be gross if we get jammed on. probably go a little bit bigger just to. maximize yeah. that was probably a recreational player. as well and these games are just full of. them. unlikely that they're gonna fold a jack.

There he had pocket jacks. let's call here I don't know if it's. okay at this rate structure but I've got. a recreational. compliance. when somebody limbs here you want to be. really polar with your isolation range. so like some of your worst hands are. actually going to raise and a lot of. them just get mixed 50 50.. um versus the pot size bed I think I can. fold that but it might be a mistake. and let's see. well I meant to call there but. I did not. I was also thinking about raising. not sure how good a raise is there but. yeah probably not great. but I think I should have at least. called there. versus that small size with the got shot. it's pretty weak got shot though so it's. probably. somewhat close. okay we get a limp ISO I'm gonna I'm. gonna just call I don't wanna. drive out this limper just yet. and. I mean yeah we could jump into this but.

I'm gonna play more conservative here. then we get a squeeze I think this hand. will probably call. approximately half the time. I'm a little bit wary about it. just given the preflop action I don't. know this player is going to be bluffing. all that much. and let's see on the Flop here probably. bet this hand. quarter of the time. check the rest of the time it's a nice. turn. and we typically want to slow play sets. I'm just gonna call. slow place that's in position. and it's. the turn wasn't good enough we rivered. the quads. give it a second and then Jam. when you three bet small cbetting range. from a for a small size. in position is usually a pretty good. strategy. um. only exceptions really are like. low connected boards and Ace wheel type. boards those you wanna. check a bit more but most of the time. you can just see that range small.

Um let's see let's just bet this. we Face a raise I'm just gonna call this. one. really small size. I'm going to raise it up. let me get a snap call. there's not really any way that I can. give up here even though I have the. clubs but. I have seven High. so just have to Bluff there. so I'm not really sure what's going on. there with his bet size on the turn I. assume he's just a recreational player. he's probably bluffing a lot in that. line and. um I wasn't really sure what to do so to. help me make my decision I just used my. random number generator. and I rolled it very aggressive so. just went for the raise. um and it's important in spots like that. to just recognize that like. in that spot I literally never get to. the river with a weaker hand than that. and so. on a very. um connected board with a lot of bats. and raises happening.

We. just need to Bluff in that spot. over bed. um. I don't like this but my hand is just. way too strong so I have to call. but I'm not thrilled about calling here. the only reason I'm calling there is. just because I think he could. potentially. be over betting a really strong King. um and it's just kind of an absurd full. to make in theory but if you have a weak. player and he's over betting like that. it's. usually pretty strong. we've got guys jamming preflop. I don't know what I would do there I'd. probably call like nines Plus or eights. Plus. and just hope the guy's tilting. um here you can either just call or. format. and I'm going to mostly check here. face is half pot bat on the turn. it's a gross spot I'm not quite ready to. fold yet but I think I'll fold River. and yeah I'm gonna fold here. face a small. three bet.

I'm gonna format. okay well let's not overthink this let's. just put the money in. Aces. not much you can do about that. and. let's see I'm not sure how long I want. this to go I think we'll play another. five minutes or so. can either call or three bad here. the sand I think I can stab sometimes I. mean it's very good board for me. I'm going to check here I rolled pretty. passive. if it checks again I think I'll probably. stab at this. but it doesn't. so in summary if you're playing low. stakes. focus on Logistics. if you're not familiar with that word I. probably should have said this before. but that has Logistics has to do with. planning and organization so just make. sure that you're staying organized. staying on a schedule. what do I want to do here I think I'll. over bet. make sure you're focusing on. fundamentals.

Preflop flop defenses spots that come. up frequently. don't do anything too fancy. there's no reason to here. uh you just play a pretty simple. fundamentally sound strategy and give it. enough time and you will win. and the last point I'll make about low. stakes is that if you are struggling. you know I would give it even just six. months maybe a year if you're struggling. to win. um I'm gonna bet again here. kind of a thin spot but I think it's fun. if you're struggling I would. consider looking into coaching. you can. at least you know buy a subscription to. a site that offers training videos like. this one. subscribe to this YouTube channel. obviously. there's also a lot of coaching for. profits Stables. these days which I was the head coach of. one of them a couple of years ago at. poker detox cfp. a lot of these Stables will give you a.

Stake. and they will Coach you. and in return you play for a set period. of time usually a year or two years and. you give them a percentage of your. profits. usually starts around 50 50 split and. then gets more favorable As you move up. in Stakes. but I think that cfps are a good option. for a lot of people. because it puts you in a community. it gives you a coach who knows what. they're doing and can steer you in the. right direction. it's going to help you avoid a lot of. the common pitfalls that. Lone Wolf type poker players fall into. and. the. um here I'll just call on table two. the incentives are aligned pretty nicely. uh just going to call here. I'm gonna fold my threes. uh you could donk here on the turn but. I'm not. going to. and I think. um my plan is just going to be to call. down here. sorry I'll finish that thought in just a.

Second I have a hard time. playing and talking at the same time. uh yeah here just call. three six nice. and definitely just calling on table one. do I want to stab here ever. I'm gonna check. check again. so yeah anyway what I was saying is that. with cfps the incentives are aligned. pretty nicely because. your coach is. taking a cut of your profits so your. coach is really incentivized to make you. a better player a winning player. obviously do your research. make sure that whatever stable you join. is pretty transparent with results. and I would suggest if you are going to. join. then. try to talk to some people who are in. that stable currently and see what. they're saying because if people are an. unhappy. in a stable. um. you're going to find out pretty quickly. but I really do think that coaching is. the best way to sort of accelerate your.

Process. as a poker player some people can get. away with not. purchasing any coaching in the beginning. pretty much everyone who plays poker. professionally invests in coaching at. some point. if you are really talented it might not. make sense to give away half your. profits immediately. you might want to see if you can. get to Mid sticks or even high stakes on. your own first. before giving away a chunk is that maybe. you could save money just by purchasing. hourly coaching or something like that. but. again if you're struggling for more than. six months or a year that's when I would. start to think about. making an investment instead of just. spinning your wheels. because you can really waste a lot of. time with poker if you if you just have. bad ideas about how you're supposed to. be playing. a scary turn here I'm still gonna call.

because. I'm pretty suspicious. about this hand with this guy who just. cold called my three bed preflop. so this is a pretty bad board to call. down on. but. let's call it anyway. I think you can just have a lot of. random stuff like that. typically you don't want to fold very. much against Wild players who are just. cold calling three bets from the big. blind preflop. recreational players. all right. there was a fun little session I'm going. to end it right here. if you guys have any questions about. anything just let me know in the. comments I hope you enjoyed this I hope. you learned something. and I will see you in the next video
