Welcome back guys surprise new video of. Fernanda here aka Jane Anna city 7 in. today's video I'm going to play some low. stakes PLO because I know a lot of you. guys are playing lower stakes PLO than. what I usually play on stream or in the. mastermind and you have these questions. where you're playing against a lot of. funky players a lot of weird lines a lot. of very extreme scenarios like multi way. lived parts people cold calling or three. beds and the question is what are we. gonna do in these spots how do we play. against players that are definitely not. GTO there are definitely not good. players and have ranges that are. completely out of whack I'm gonna. address that question in today's video. so for that reason we're going to dive. right into the action here two tables of. zoom before heading into the action of.

Course I wanna make you aware that we. are running our membership about pot. limit Omaha from beginner to advanced. intermediate levels over at Jane and. asprova comm if you're interested in. joining or taking a look at what is in. the course then check out the link in. the description janeanne is poker.com. for the mastermind without further ado. let's head into reaction so we can. expect certainly some interesting lines. here for sure I'm gonna you know bang. out some Nuggets in the master mind we. also have a specific section for micro. stakes because there are a lot of. adjustments to make that I'm going to. address also today that are not. occurring when I generally play when you. see me playing at mid stakes or high. stakes there are some things that I'm. doing in there that you shouldn't do you. interplaying lower stakes and the main.

Reason for that there are a couple. reasons for it we actually have an. interesting spot right at bat on this. table where I opened the cutoff and now. we have this min 3 bet allin certainly. as well it also doesn't occur that often. on a regular tables or someone is that. short in fact now we flop a week flush. draw our flush actually it's not a flush. draw it's quite a bit better than a. flush draw. we're gonna check back there there's not. much value in a in a pot with a side pot. here I'm gonna bet smaller turn trying. to extract some value so what is the. reason that you should play much. different than the way I play add. mistakes when you play lower stakes. the first reason is the rake the rake is. much much higher and is at the end of. the day your biggest enemy the rake is. going to drag down your winrate and even.

Though you might be better than your. opponents you might still not be a. winning player because the rate eats up. too much of your profit. there are obviously ways to work it. around the rake which we're gonna. address in today's video and the main. way to avoid the rake trap is to stop. playing too many hands you have to stop. playing too many hands when you're. raising first and you have to play. tighter when you're facing or raised in. position so not coke all too many hands. and you also have to stop defending too. many hands from the big blind the. biggest trap you can fall into is to. think about these multi ways scenarios. where you are talking yourselves into. the pots so you basically tell yourself. oh we have to have three colors and. getting an amazing price I have to get. into the pot this is not the way to.

Think about it because you're very far. away from realizing your equity which. was the main reason you call parts. equity right but the problem is in a. fourway pot someone is gonna take a. stab at the flop very big and you need a. super strong hand to actually continue. and when you call others where all those. very weak hands that you might consider. calling because of the pots then you end. up just wasting a lot of money because. you will have to fold the flop. so stop defending too many here and stop. raising too many hands just knit it up. at the end of the day and no one is no. one is gonna really exploit you because. of that because people just don't really. care at the lower stakes how tight you. play I'm not limping in the small bind. any hand by the way at a high rate. environment because that will just force.

A lot of pots where we are gonna reach. the 5% where we're not gonna reach the. rate cap so we're gonna pay 5% without. reaching the rate cap and we're gonna. pay a lot of rate in those very small. pots when you face a limp or yourself by. the way just like in here the way you. want to deal with this is to race every. single time you come into the pot and. think about it like if you were raising. one seat ahead of a seed you're in so. let's say here I'm on the button and I. would be raising there against one limb. per Mike. of range so this hand is actually a. fault and the reason you need to tighten. up with your raises is because you have. very very little fold equity preflop. generally speaking people who live they. don't fold against a single race they're. actually in fact limping so they don't. have to pay too much to see the flop and.

They will certainly call that one bet so. if you can't avoid the flop then you. can't avoid the rake again the rake is. your biggest enemy it's just what it is. and because you have to pay a raked pot. you need an extra strong hand because. you already know you have to beat the. rake in that individual hand on top at. four four two two is a general standard. called in the button. the only thing to be aware of it is. stack sizes in play obviously this hand. is a set mining hand and you want to be. aware what stack sizes are round so that. there's enough money in the middle in. order to stab someone. now unfortunately gets squeezed and here. the rules pretty clear of this guy cause. I'm gonna call us well because of the. multi play value of my hands if I can. flop a static and stack one or two. players. I'm also closing the action which has a.

Lot of value in a multiway three bet. pot so here we come in we're not happy. about this bar by the way but we're. still gonna make more money calling the. folding before the flop and folding. they're three and a half big blinds that. we already invested so in these multi. way paths we really have to play it very. very straightforward in fact most of the. players have to play very. straightforward and that is the reason. why position is so important because. these guys are very honest with their. checks and here's the thing the. threshold so the minimum requirement of. a hand you need to stack off really. depends highly on whether you're gonna. go allin against one player two players. or three players and if you don't have. that information then you're in a big. disadvantage that the guy was out of. position the most you can say he's had a.

Position against three players he's in. the biggest disadvantage right now. because he doesn't know against how many. players it's gonna be up facing this. very small bet on the turn I'm certainly. gonna call unless someone else is going. to call because then it might be in. danger of running into King King. although the way the action. wouldn't be too worried we're creating a. great price here so we're gonna call let. me do whatever a boat so my opponent. could obviously have king king he. shouldn't really but at this point we're. definitely gonna stack off here alright. a check because there is already so much. money in the middle I don't even have. nearly a pot sized bed left the only. reasonable sizing gear is to pot it or. not Potter to just jam all in make sure. to use your time bank a little bit to. just time down and not act too too.

Quickly because definitely people can. read into it if you have a curse to. clear decision like we have here with. the river jam it can become quite. obvious to your opponent a lot of the. times if you are considering a complex. Bluff it takes some time to actually. think it true limp odd again I don't. recommend limping in general from the. small blind but this guy lives I check. and we're not betting flop and turn on. the floppy were semi bluffing return for. value betting another we were gonna. check trying to get to showdown and he. got us on the river ace five six seven. it's a pretty strong hand but it would. be open from middle position it is kind. of close I'm going to raise it but just. be aware that your requirement once. again it's much higher for raising here. then it normally is in the cutoff seat.

Because you don't have fold equity pre. flop flop of wrap in the back door not. flush draw he bets full part we have a. clear call you want to utilize position. if all the money goes in the flag we're. not going to be in great shape where we. definitely have the odds and the implied. odds to call here that is a very bad. turn we don't have sure to nail you and. we could be drawing that in the price is. also not good so it makes it pretty easy. for us thereby pardon the term card and. you will see a lot of players using. sizings that will make it actually quite. easy and obvious to you because and here. is another nugget for you guys when. people use a very big sizing what. they're basically doing is they're. basically removing a lot of the bluffs. that it would have because they are too. much focused on. detection in poker that is that is very.

Very often of recreational players true. they think all the time about protection. they what they hate the most is to be. drawn out and for that reason they're. betting hands too big and they're. betting hands or they're slow play. enough not enough hands because they. fear getting out draw emotionally seem. that is the biggest loss a lot of the. recreational players can take if you. think back to the WSOP days were you. know Norman jad with some ESPN and and. the whole coverage was really really big. they always referenced this idea of oh. this guy made a mistake because he let. his opponent get there he gave him the. free card his slow plate is his mistake. is his fault like if it is the worst. possible outcome ever and it really. isn't because you have to look at it as. a completed strategy sometimes you do.

Have to slow play because the benefit. could be very big and yes sometimes you. will get outgrown it's part of the game. but it is not directly correlated to. your expected value we will see. definitely some very very unorthodox non. GTO bat sizing in the process of this. session and will point it out them. anyway let me know in the comments. section of well what kind of things are. you struggling with when you're playing. a lower stakes peeler what kind of open. questions do you have. so over here we block top hair and we. also have a high diamonds so those are. two blockers that lead right away to. higher fold equity on the flop it is. good if our opponent is folding already. on the flop when you only have top hair. so you will see me folding a lot of. hands even though I certainly have an. equity and then equity I have an edge.

Over the over the table in terms of. skill set it is just that the rake is. gonna be too high in too many spots. basically flopping top sets here. actually gonna go ahead and lead because. this guy this guy can actually read Jam. so it'd be nice to see him call and then. see an over Jam that would be pretty. nice actually okay he doesn't Jam. unfortunately now I'm gonna just extract. max value on the turn and bet full pot. it's called again step called again and. rivers gonna be tricky they're three. strides possible eight nine is King and. King nine and he doesn't Bluff. apparently and let's see what he was. holding here bring it down so he had a. wrap on the flop on the turn he should. have folded because of the flush draw. and because of the fact that his frat or. his straight draw is now not any more to. the nuts it's just not gonna get it for.

A great price if I have a straight draw. myself or if I have a flush draw with my. made hand he's really not gonna be in. great shape clear open wolf Kings King. King Jack seven to be precise. another thing that you have to adjust. when you play at higher stakes a lot of. the times when you raise preflop you do. have a lot of fold equity so it's not. like you're gonna play three or four. weight pots all the time and that is. influencing your hand selection a lot. because when you have a low run down a. hand like eight seven six five for. example which is not a great hand in PL. oh by the way a lot of people. overestimate the value of a hand like. that that hand is okay to play against. one opponent and there are a couple. reasons for that first of all when you. play against one player board coverage. is really important that putting but.

Poor coverage basically means is that. you can have a very strong hand on a. lower board for example because when you. play one versus one your opponent is. much more incentivized to bluff against. you when you play in a four way pot it. doesn't matter whether you are like. check folding a certain board the. basically 100 amount of time nobody has. the incentive to just Bluff because. apart from bluffing you they also have. to bluff the rest of the table that's. way way too many players so when you. already know that you're gonna play lots. of multiway parts then you need to. adjust immediately preflop by open. raising the hands and do well in multi. webparts and these lower run down. stitches really don't so in the earlier. seats when you have some really low. hands that don't have a lot of equity. that helped your board coverage these.

Hands don't become strong anymore pop is. straight here with two pair we could. actually consider slow play but another. thing that I find in these stations that. people are not really bluffing that. aggressively and also they're gonna call. to light which is chase certain hands. although this is really the super nuts. there's only one straight possible can I. see your cards industry and well this is. not life today so no all right. definitely better in the turn you should. notice it on this card that a lot of. draws possible right now I'm gonna bet. on the better side. it's got a foal unfortunately from. Germany I was late it's up late I'm not. gonna disclose what time it is right now. but I want to late schedule at the. moment you guys can guess in the comment. section what time you think it is right. now so here we called in position.

There's a big difference between being. exactly on the button or on the cutoff. or an MP in terms of the hands you want. to call just realize that and of course. there are other open questions I'm happy. to go into as well in future videos that. we already covered in multiple videos in. the mastermind bankroll management Shaw. taking variants preflop adjustments when. it comes to lower stakes exploitive. adjustments when it comes to lower. stakes and also a lot of footage of. course how are playing lower states like. all these things again are highly. important because when you play at a. different stakes you have at stake you. have to adjust so here we flub the nut. flush draw this is not a strong hand. because we don't have a straight draw or. two pair to go with it so we want to see. a free card we don't see a free card we.

Do have a backdoor straight toward out. the king it gives us a wrap then nine. gives us an open ender man so I'm gonna. go ahead and call actually but the main. thing I want to point out if he would. have checked I would definitely check us. while trying to see a free card or get a. free card not a good turn he will. probably price me out of the pot. okay nice that was a great free card. that was a good free card so how much. should we bet it's gonna be hard for us. to be bluffing here to be honest just. because we call the flop against. multiple players but still people are. quite stationing. we have mastermind member here. you have another hand on the other table. which we're gonna reference in a second. that's this guy is heading into his time. back for a real also another point is. you can notice I don't play with a HUD.

Right now and I think a lot of players. they're getting just distracted using a. hut at a stage of their of their career. or it's not really useful for them you. know it's it's it's like you know. driving a Ferrari basically although I. don't have one. or dois or ever drove one but I'm saying. you know it is powerful but you also. have to know how to use it otherwise in. the wrong hands it doesn't really it. doesn't really help much yeah so I'm not. trying to let you know I have a Ferrari. because I never drove what never touched. one I don't have one okay. anyway we played this hand here that was. quite interesting so I defend blind I'm. blind and check back on the flop I think. it's gonna be tough to get value tennis. 3 he bets full part I call and the. Rivers's six and I bet and he calls and. he happens to have a king so against his.

Particular hand we didn't extract max. value but I do think there is some value. in being deceptive on very dry boards. for it's hard for him to continue here I. check call because he min bet the flop. or a third of hard we have two back to. flush draws which is a big deal that's a. lot of equity without two back to. flushes and which is falling the flop. and now bets the river for like a tenth. of the pot almost so are we gonna win. like twelve fifteen percent of the time. and I mean that the number is just too. low to consider not calling it's just. yeah it's just too cheap basically ace. king queen queen will be a hand I wanna. definitely bet and this three bad idea. in general is something that's very very. important at lower stakes because you. pay so much rate you want to play as. many three bet pots as possible so the.

Good hands and the great hand should. always be three ready to reach the rate. cap so you don't pay as much rake and. you can. to play big pots take it down preflop. which is perfect again prenup is the. only scenario really don't pay actual. rake so that it's awesome you win a rake. free part and because Rick is the. biggest opponent or enemy of lower six. players that's an amazing result really. so here we have a definitely strong. enough hand to raise and on the flop. we're going to take a free card in. position on table definitely isolating. here with a great hand. ace Queen Jack six double suited and. facing the pot sized beds here I'm just. gonna go ahead and fold sure if my. opponent would be very aggressive in. white with his bluffing range we have. the equity to call but most players. again Derek they're putting themselves.

Into position by betting so large that. they are not really gonna have enough. bluffs anymore and you can play very. straight forward against these bet sizes. huge turn for us we have the nuts trade. with a nut flush draw and their redraw. that better straight but they're also. not a draw as possible that our. opponents might call us with I think a. lot of players they were already pay. attention whether we bet 80 percent or. 66 but they do realize when I bet full. pot so I'm gonna go ahead and bet. something like this like pretty large. but it's not pot it's not going to look. like part. okay so he has parts I had left he did. not bet the flop into four players one. two three players I don't think he adds. a hand like ten ten here or king ten I'm. gonna actually valid you have the river. for part size. is it a slow roll and I think it's a.

Slower hopefully not. any calls with the Queen I flush which. is no good and we take down a pretty. nice part there so as you can see you. know that just waiting for good hands. folding tightly for sure again not. because your opponents are good it is. because the rate is very high the. biggest opponent that you can have is. the rake but also your ego because if. you feel entitled to win against your. opponent's because you're better then. you don't make the correct calculation. the calculation is not you versus your. opponent it is you versus your opponent. and versus the poker side and the rate. they're taking and once you realize that. you realize that you don't have to only. beat your opponent even if you're better. than them it's not enough you have to be. much better than those guys in order to. overcome the rake Wow actually being.

Able kin valley race here a little bit. if my opponent happens to jam the flop I. would actually fold and but I do think. there's some value in raising small and. getting some additional bets in with my. aces he calls I'm gonna bet small in the. turn once again the question is do we go. bet are we gonna stack up now that he. just called or are we not gonna stack. off well either way I think betting. smaller is better because you can call. more hands you will be induced by the. price if you jams the turn we are in a. very strange scenario but sometimes you. have to take on these bots and figure it. out after after the action unfold it we. take that apart there. so here against the mineralized sizing. is important when someone raises smaller. you just have to come in lighter for. sure which is make sure to not overdo it.

And and come into light here on the. river I'm not going to bluff you have a. little bit of showdown value but we also. have two diamonds which is not great. when it comes to Bluff catching on the. righthand side here you see one does it. occurs in areas you know the Pato. scenario what matters here in a 5way. pot is the nuttiness of your hand can. you make the nuts on the flop and and. we're not and my hand can clearly with. the ace three of diamonds so that's why. I'm defending but don't defend just any. junk hand just because you're getting. ten to one you're gonna lose more money. in the process what had into the flop. because of the problematic hand you had. preflop leads to more problems post flop. AC is king queen we get a limper now we. want to see a nice erase we don't get. limping is so bad in this game because.

Of the rate structure I mean we. appreciate people limping I guess. because it just you know proves that. it's a bad strategy that they're bad. players identify them as basically bad. players but again it is such a horrible. play at a high rate structure to be. limping here in a fourway part you have. to have high standards when it comes to. continuing hands bear over pair of aces. it's not going to be enough it's really. important to recognize how many players. are in the pot so here we raise the. threebutton cold-called this happens. very frequent at lower stakes and micro. stakes we're gonna call and have an. interesting and decision point in front. of us so this guy is the shortest player. like he can potentially Jam the flop and. then he will be sandwiched and in a very. difficult situation overall okay so both.

Players check at this point I want to. bet. not really afraid of getting jammed by. this player like he might Jam a little. bit lighter but I do you think would get. to realize our equity's who see in. additional cards see if we can make our. hand or get to fold which is also great. of course. so let's see what happens here take it. down that's definitely a good result. this is a lip part once again no. surprise when someone lives in general I. was just gonna mark them right away as. pass it or Lose passive player Jack Jack. for three exactly on the button fine to. call if there would if there would be. other colors right here. and we got to be a lot more careful and. start folding increasing the requirement. for the hand as we already know it's. gonna go three way or four way and Jack. check for three double suited is a fine.

Hand headsup but it becomes a very. tricky hand even bad hand three four. ways call the flop against a small bet. on the turn I don't have a single hard. in my hand I'm not gonna Bluff my hand. I bet it's almost full pot just gonna go. ahead and drop it don't get the right. parts to call they're gonna pick up a. Jack Jack 9 but not in a nut suit which. makes quite a difference here with this. specific holding we're just gonna fold. ten nine and eight so everyone calls. once again being an absolute position in. a multiway scenario it's really really. beneficial my hand is fine for a. multiway part we definitely don't want. to see this but if everyone calls or. most of the players call we can. definitely call as well being in. position in a 5way 3bet part is a huge. value asset because we can see exactly. how many players go in on the flop and.

That is a huge deal in a fight with hot. so definitely want to call here. obviously the flop doesn't help at all. and he checks at his PR one that is very. interesting he checks quite fast even if. he has aces it's tricky without any. backup maybe you should check if he has. aces with any backup should probably. just jab obviously we have an EZ fold. let's see what hukka romney is doing I. mean if you has aces without any backup. he has to stack up against one player. but be more careful if two three players. go in okay this guy's jet jamming all. Enya's kinking to four against queen. queen he has a five all right and here. we go okay ace Jack Jack four we're. gonna call against the min raise and is. too strong to fold against the min raise. hot side stupid on the flop and I had. like this that looks very nice in this.

Moment is actually a fault the low cards. are not doing well in these scenarios. where you have a wide range or opponent. has a wide range and you're out of. position in highest VI were five five. three four that's not a good spot to be. in huge flop here we can lead or check. I'm actually just gonna go ahead and. lead build a pub and also force our. hands we don't have shot an ollie yet. but we have a lot of equity and we can. dominate tricky turn card I'm going to. check I definitely want to see a Reaper. covered out getting raised and the fold. equity seems to be low because both. players call them the flop so they. probably have something they can. continue once again so if I don't have. fold equity there's no reason to. basically push it. someone into the part where we are. behind okay check check check. giving up gotta be really careful with.

The back door flush that comes in when. two players called the flop which just. makes it much more likely someone has it. and apparently we win with two pair that. is very surprising open race under the. gun we're gonna check the flop four ways. just realize that the requirement for. betting four ways even three ways is so. high knitted up your opponent's will get. it into light it happens over and over. again. great flop here cut off versus big. blinds on this turn I'm gonna take a. free card and we were at straight so we. will definitely call or that ourselves. off pot we call money has a pretty. strange hand they're like these types of. hands you just don't want to defend. these hands in the big blind because the. rate is just too high and if they're one. more bigger hand and then call it a. session hopefully it was helpful to you.

Guys to understand what kind of things. to consider too obviously more things to. consider playing microstates there lots. of things to consider playing PLO in. general I'm trying to move up in stakes. and potentially make a career out of it. a side job I think these are the things. the master might have specialized for it. to get you up to a really good level. again if you're interested you can check. it out at Jade and it's over to calm. maybe the doubles that Kings will be our. last hand here with this hand connected. is really important so that three we. really don't like the three in terms of. three betting a hand so I will just call. it up and race in most cases unless my. parents are very very quiet and on the. other table I'm open raising five five. three three against two deeper stack. players or hundred big blinds or.

Slightly deeper these hands do well if. your opponents are deeper but they don't. well if they're short such as folding. preflop against the shorts that is. better the flop is set our opponent. should do a lot of checking on this. board so we expect also really good. hands to check here and because of that. actually when I sized up a little bit. because if he as hard as it's probably. gonna check and maybe check Jam that. would be nice against my set and if he. has just bare aces with no backup he. your prodigious fold and it doesn't. really matter what sizing we are using. all right I'm gonna sit out here at the. end of the Orbitz King 1055's a hand. that would raise again only raising or. folding from the small blind not limping. and the right hand side we have an. interesting hand open ender and the nut. flush draw blocker and it's a great hand.

to start building apart because we have. good blockers down the road and equity. as well the open ended straight draw. we're also reducing the frequency we get. raised on the flop because we have the. ace of diamonds that's it guys thank you. are tuning in in today's episode let me. know in the comments section what you. are struggling with when you play a. lowstakes pilla what kind of open. questions you have happy to join me in. an answer as well and that was easier. than the next video or in the mastermind. link below in the description and. janeanne is pogo.com. take care
